A killer is at work in the nation's capital, and he seems to like variety. His victims range from kindergarten students to senators - not even the President is safe. Alex Cross, hero of Along Came a Spider and Kiss the Girls, is awakened one night to confront the brutal murder of a little girl only blocks away from his house. With a single clue, a mysterious rhyme signed "Jack and Jill", the skilled and courageous Cross sets out to track the murderer. Can he work fast enough to spare the killer's next victim?

Definitely did not like the abridged version. I'm sure it is a good story, but this felt a little disjointed due to the abridgment.

This is a thriller of a book... I enjoyed listening to this audio book... I give it five stars....

I am trying to catch up on all the Alex Cross books. I was disappointed with the ABRIDGEMENT of this book. In three disks, it RAN through the story with little connecting information. I bet the whole story was great. Wish it was available unabridged.

Of course I am an Alex Cross fan so naturally I enjoyed this book. Although, the abridged versions are not as good, they go too fast!
